League of Women Voters Hudson announces a new policy regarding our Candidate Forums
The LWV Hudson Board of Directors has unanimously voted to discontinue filming and airing our Candidate Forums. The League will continue to host Candidate Forums, a Voter Service we have provided to the Hudson Community for the past 70 years, but they will no longer be available to viewers on cable television.
Our decision was based on recommendations from the Ohio and U.S. Leagues, our need to protect the integrity of the forums’ content and our commitment to nonpartisanship. It is our hope that by eliminating the broadcasts of the forums we will remove the opportunity to use film footage to promote any candidacy.
We would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to Hudson Cable TV for their co-sponsorship and to all the candidates who have participated in the forums over the years. We extend an invitation to all future candidates and the community of Hudson to continue participating in our Candidate Forums, thus strengthening the political process and our community. The League of Women Voters commitment is to provide the public with accurate, nonpartisan services and information that can be used as a basis for understanding the election process and reaching your own voting decision.

Sincerely,Belinda Wing
